Canna indica is generally suitable for Kuwait’s climate because it thrives in warm temperatures, although extreme summer heat may require extra watering and some afternoon shade to prevent stress. The plant usually survives Kuwait’s mild winters outdoors and continues growing in following seasons.
The plant can be grown either in garden soil or in large pots, as long as the container has good drainage and rich, well-draining soil. Canna grow best in full sunlight with at least six hours of light daily, and they prefer consistently moist soil. Regular watering is important, especially during hot periods, and fertilizing every few weeks during the growing season encourages strong growth and continuous flowering from late spring through autumn.
Depending on the variety, it typically grows about 1–2 meters tall and spreads about half to one meter wide and can live from 5 to 10 years.
